Sustainability

Impact built into how we deliver

At CTG, we take a practical approach to sustainability – championing responsible employment, comprehensive Duty of Care, and inclusive participation across the workforce.

Guided by accountable governance and a sustainable development approach, our programs focus on inclusive participation and progression, helping build capability that strengthens institutions and supports long-term national outcomes in the Kingdom.

We are committed to supporting the development of a resilient, vibrant and opportunity-rich Saudi Arabia.

OUR APPROACH TO SUSTAINABILITY

At CTG, sustainability is a purpose-based business strategy that embeds our commitment to good in everything we do. We align our commercial objectives with nation-building and community priorities, focusing on delivering measurable outcomes that create long-term social and economic value.

We deliver these outcomes by building local capacity, empowering women in the workplace and creating responsible economic opportunity that strengthens communities and compounds value over time – for institutions, employers and the people they serve.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGS)

Our approach is rooted in respect for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and guided by our long-standing commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We translate principles into practice by focusing on four SDGs that align closely with Saudi Vision 2030.

SDG 5 – GENDER EQUALITY

  • Source, Submit, Select. We actively grow our database of female candidates, collaborate with our clients and stakeholders to ensure women have equitable access to work opportunities, and support their empowerment once appointed.
  • Creating tangible work experience opportunities. Our Women in Aid Internship Programme is female-focused, offering graduates valuable work experience and access to an experienced mentor, helping them kickstart long-term and successful careers in our sector and beyond.
  • Enhancing Job-Readiness. Our Committed to Good Curricula equips young women with the knowledge and skills they need to ease their entry into the formal labour market.

We’re a woman-run business, passionate about achieving gender parity. Our CEO, Alice, chaired the Women’s Empowerment Principles Taskforce in the Gulf region and continues to campaign for change.

CTG’s internal policies are family friendly; we require all staff to complete gender equality training and have implemented a banding structure that directly aligns benefits and pay-scales to protect diversity and inclusion.

Our team is ready. But what of our initiatives?

Female First pledges to improve women’s access to decent work opportunities in fragile and conflict-affected countries. Launched in 2017, this initiative aimed to achieve 30% female representation across our workforce by 2030 – a goal we reached and exceeded in 2022, eight years ahead of schedule. Despite this achievement, we remain steadfast in our commitment. Female First has three focus areas:

SDG8 & SDG16

Decent work and Economic Growth & Peace and Justice

  • Our staff collaborate with governments, businesses and UN agencies to help Somalia transition to peaceful living.
  • In South Sudan, our teams empower refugees impacted by the civil war by creating jobs in the refugee camps where they live.
  • CTG engineering monitors play their part in the rebuilding of homes and infrastructure in Gaza.
  • Our staff monitor the movements of migrants and internally displaced persons in Libya.

CTG integrates these goals into daily business activities, aiming to improve economic opportunities and quality of life in our countries of operation. We do this by focusing on hiring local nationals, investing in their skills, and ensuring fair and living wages.

In addition, CTG is a member of the United Nations Global Compact’s Business for Peace initiative, a platform of over 130 leading companies dedicated to catalysing action for peace.

Working in fragile and conflict-affected environments, our aim is to drive economic growth and pave the way for a peaceful future.

Together, these priorities guide our programs, inform how we measure progress and define our long-term ambitions.

BUILDING CAPABLE NATIONAL CAPACITY

CTG is firmly aligned with Vision 2030’s emphasis on national capacity development and applies Saudization as an embedded delivery practice.

Our model is designed to complement national capability by pairing global expertise with purposeful knowledge transfer. This is how we ensure that international inputs, where needed, strengthen local capacity.

We recruit and develop local talent, aligning workforce planning with national objectives, and deploy international support to enable structured mentoring, targeted capacity-building and professional development. This approach equips local staff to grow into leadership roles and build national capacity.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION

We put people at the center of our business because they are our greatest asset. We are committed to fostering a culture of belonging, equity and opportunity where all our staff can excel.

Our vision is to build an organization that attracts and champions diverse talent, removes barriers to entry and advancement, and fosters a supportive environment. This includes expanding access to decent work for women, those with disabilities and other groups that are underrepresented in the workforce.

By ensuring equitable access to economic opportunity and supporting everyone to contribute to the best of their abilities, we deliver better outcomes for our teams, clients and the communities where we operate.
